Burnt Chapati is an independent music label. This catalogue is where the proposition becomes audible: released work and its published context, without inventing the stories or personnel behind it.
Public catalogue
The listening room above presents demos that BCMC has chosen to publish. Each song keeps its title and original publication date, with the newest releases first.
A rough recording shared through Create stays in its private project. It becomes part of this catalogue only through a separate publication decision.
Catalogue principle
The Songs catalogue is a public listening space for demos explicitly published by BCMC. The original audio, title and publication date form the record; private work in progress remains in the creator workspace.
Listening position
Independent music. Shared participation. The first half of that statement matters: every system exists to serve music worth returning to.
Start anywhere. Each row presents the title, publication date and duration. Playback begins when you press play; starting another song pauses the previous one.
Language, script and naming stay with the work. Burnt Chapati does not translate or simplify a title for the convenience of the interface, and it does not turn an upload into invented editorial metadata.
One listening field
A demo can carry a song, a collaboration or a line of inquiry. Its place here begins with the music.
Original musical work appears under the title chosen for its publication.
Collaborative releases remain visible without the page inventing a hierarchy among the people involved.
Material connected to chants, practice or research can sit beside other music without being reduced to a decorative category.
Source discipline
The catalogue carries what the approved release can support, keeping listening information distinct from project documentation.
| Element | Public function | Integrity rule |
|---|---|---|
| Title | Names the work | Preserve the published wording and script |
| Publication date | Places the demo in its original context | Use the original date supplied by BCMC |
| Duration | Shows the length of the recording | Read the uploaded audio rather than estimate |
| Playback | Lets anyone listen | Use the original audio approved for publication |
| Hearts | Shows listener appreciation | One reversible heart per account and song |
| Notes | Shares listener reviews | Publish only after moderation |
This record does not establish composition shares, master ownership, fees, continuing participation, personnel or approval rights.
Living catalogue
BCMC adds the original MP3, the song title and its original publication date.
Private preparationCheck the audio and its context before sharing the work.
ReadinessBCMC publishes the demo for public listening. Uploading a private project version alone never publishes it.
PublicationListeners can play the song, leave a heart and submit feedback for moderation.
ConversationListening continuity
The listening room says when it is waiting for original audio. It does not substitute private recordings.
If audio cannot load, check your connection and try again. An unavailable recording should not be mistaken for a finished playback.
Email hello@burntchapati.com with the song title and the issue you encountered.
Creator integrity
Burnt Chapati begins with creators, which means refusing to manufacture contribution records from incomplete signals.
The catalogue preserves the naming supplied for the approved release.
A title or listener review is not enough evidence to assign authorship, performance, production or engineering roles.
Credit notes should come from approved project records and identify what the evidence supports.
When information is incomplete, describe that limitation instead of filling the gap with confident copy.
The Songs page is a listening catalogue, not a rights register, credit schedule, royalty account or project agreement.
Listener control
Starting a song pauses the previous one, so recordings do not compete for your attention.
Use the audio controls to play, pause and move through a recording.
An account is not required to listen or read approved reviews.
Sign in when you want to leave a heart or write feedback. You can remove your heart or edit your review.
Public demos are separate from private recordings and conversations in the creator workspace.
The listening conversation
The public count reflects one reversible heart per signed-in account and song.
Write or edit one text review for each song. New and edited reviews wait for BCMC moderation.
Expand Notes to read approved reviews, with display names and dates.
Catalogue answers
No. Listening and reading approved reviews are open to everyone. Sign in to react or leave feedback.
No. Project recordings stay private. BCMC makes a separate, explicit decision to publish a demo.
New reviews enter a moderation queue. Editing an existing review sends it back for moderation before it appears publicly again.
No. Credits, rights, fees and participation depend on verified release and project records.
Yes. Your heart is reversible, and you can edit your own review after signing in.
Creator invitation
Begin with the music, the people already involved and the precise question you want Burnt Chapati to consider.
An introduction can open a conversation about creation, production or partnership. It does not create a release commitment, transfer a right or assign participation. Any project that advances needs its own scope, contributor record and separate agreement.
